GAZETTEMENT
The flow after completion of the Parallel Pathway
GAZETTEMENT-WHAT IS IT ?
It is a 6 month process that confirms the ability of the trainee to function as a specialist in a hospital on their own.
This 6 month process involves a period of supervision under a physician either in the same hospital or as part of the same cluster.
WHO GOES WHERE FOR GAZETTEMENT ?
Numerous criteria are used to decide where a trainee will be posted for gazettement. Among the important criteria, length of service is the most important. Service in rural areas and districts will count more towards a favourable placement / choice to serve for gazettement .
Ultimately service needs and vacancies will be the determining factor as well.
GAZETTMENT LOG BOOK
The logbook will keep track of procedures and case exposure to ensure that the 6 month training period has sufficiently trained future physicians.
